2nd Annual “Wiggin’ Out for Charity”

Young Professionals of Pitt County Donate Over $10,000 to Vidant Cancer Care

GREENVILLE, NC – The Young Professionals of Pitt County recently hosted the 2nd Annual “Wiggin’ Out for Charity” event, benefiting Vidant Cancer Care, in partnership with the Vidant Health Foundation, Greenville Utilities Commission and the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce, on October 19 at the Hilton Greenville. The event was designed to provide an opportunity for young professionals, citizens and community leaders to come together to raise funds and awareness for the Vidant Cancer Center, scheduled to open mid-2018. From corporate and individual sponsorships, to ticket and table sales, the Young Professionals raised a total of $10,042.64 to donate to the Vidant Cancer Campaign.

“It’s amazing to see so many people from our community come together and raise funds for this much needed cancer center,” said Scott Allenspach, young professionals chairman.  “Everyone is touched by cancer in one way or another and our organization is proud of this opportunity to give back to our community and help the future of Vidant and cancer care.”

The event, emceed by WNCT news anchor Maria Satira, featured guest remarks from Dr. Michael Waldrum, CEO of Vidant Health, and Dr. Mary Raab, Honorary Chair of the Cancer Campaign. The event also included live music from Dave Dixon and Will Seymour, and a photo booth.
