Member Spotlight- Carl Smith

  1. How did you get to Greenville? After graduation from NC State in 2010, I moved to Greenville for an entry level Engineering position at Greenville Utilities.
  2. Where is your favorite breakfast/coffee spot in Greenville? Eat 23
  3. Where is your favorite lunch spot in Greenville? Marathon
  4. Where is your favorite dinner spot in Greenville? Chico’s
  5. What are your top three things to do in Greenville? Running with Fleet Feet, enjoying a cold beverage at Uptown brewery, and eating in local restaurants.
  6. What is your favorite festival in Greenville? Freeboot Friday
  7. What is your favorite park in Greenville and why? The Greenway is my favorite City facility; while running I enjoy being near the Tar River.
  8. How do you give back to Greenville? I try to support as many local businesses as possible; I’d rather support a small business than an online retailer.
  9. What is one thing you would like to see come to Greenville? I’d like to see the proposed hotels in uptown become a reality. Greenville is missing lodging and convention space in the uptown area.
  10. How can Greenville be improved? Over the past 10 years, I have seen a lot of growth for Greenville. I hope to continue to see the Greenway expanded and more roads modified to be friendly for cyclists.
  11. How did you hear about the Young Professionals of Pitt County? Through working at GUC I participated in the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute, which is where I heard about the Young Professionals.
  12. Why did you join the Young Professionals of Pitt County? I joined Young Professionals because I felt like it would be a way to network with others in Pitt County and learn more about the community that I now call home.
  13. What is your favorite part of YP? Networking with other similar aged professionals and participating in the Charity Events.
  14. What is your favorite YP event and why? Although I haven’t attended in a couple years, the Wiggin’ Out for Charity has been by far my most favorite event. The fellowship with other members and the cause supported by the event really made it enjoyable.
